For 50 years, this organization has been at the forefront of advocating for consumer safety. Just last week, for instance, the CCSPA announced an industry led initiative to inform Canadians of the ingredients of such household products as cleaning solutions and polishes. The initiative provides accountability and transparency and this organization and your member companies are to be commended for this leadership.

The CCSPA announced its Consumer Ingredient Communication Initiative, an industry-led commitment to inform Canadians of the ingredients contained in common household products like cleaning solutions and polishes. Providing this type of voluntary transparency is an invaluable public service, and the CCSPA should be commended for this.
Consumers Making Informed Decisions
In 2008, our industry led an initiative to ensure consumers had access to information about the ingredients in their products. To meet the needs of the changing marketplace, ingredient information could be made available to consumers either on the product label, the company’s website, or toll-free numbers. Our members expanded the 2008 program to include dyes, fragrances and preservatives in 2010. We are pleased that we have 100% compliance by those members who have products in the program. To date, the program has been well received by many, including thought leaders, other NGOS and governments. We encourage everyone to learn more:
