Public Affairs Committee

CCSPA's Public Affairs Committee provides strategic direction on the development of public relations materials to increase consumer awareness of the benefits of our members' products. In 2009, CCSPA established partnerships with the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Child Health (CICH) to publish an education kit entitled William! Won't You Wash Your Hands?. This book was announced with Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq and David Butler-Jones, Canada's Chief Medical Officer of Health, in May 2009. CCSPA and CICH distributed this book to over 13,000 child care facilities and 500 politicians! Building on the success of the 2009 initiative, CCSPA and CICH have been able to provide these materials to consumers in 5 additional languages.
